The auction: you vs The Sheikh vs Moneyball Mike, £1B each. Every position sells its good player first, then the superstar, and whoever misses out takes the stinker (and still pays the fee).

Sign the Player: The Auction House | DoUKnowBall

A three-way transfer auction: you against two AI moguls with £1B each. Positions sell good-player-first then superstar, leftovers get assigned with a fee, and the three finished squads simulate a mini-league showdown.

Three bidders, one billion pounds each: you, The Sheikh, and Moneyball Mike. Thirty three players go under the hammer, then a simulated mini league decides who spent it best.

The auction runs in a fixed order: each position sells its solid player first, then the superstar, and whoever misses both gets stuck with the leftover, fee included.

How to play Sign the Player

  • Pick a theme: Current Stars, All-Time Legends, or World Cup 2026.
  • Each of the 11 positions comes up in turn, good player first, superstar second.
  • Bid in steps of 5, 10, or 25 million, or pass.
  • Miss both auctions and the weak leftover is assigned to you, fee attached.
  • Once all three squads hit 11, the showdown simulates the league and crowns a champion.
  • Rules to know

  • Every bidder starts with 1 billion pounds, and 33 players sell across 11 positions.
  • If nobody bids, the lot is forced onto the richest bidder who needs the position, at the opening price.
  • The leftover player's fee is 60 percent of his opening price, minimum 5 million.
  • The showdown is a double round robin, 4 matches per club, ranked by points then goal difference.
  • Score is a place bonus (300, 150, or 50) plus 3 per point of squad rating plus 1 per 10 million left in the bank.
  • Example walkthrough

The striker slot opens with the solid option. The Sheikh wants him, so you nudge the price once and let go. He wins at 240 million, and when the superstar sells next he is too broke to fight you.

The leftover striker goes to Mike, fee and all. The sim hands you the title on goal difference, and the unspent money pads your score.

    Strategy tips

  • The Sheikh overpays, so tax him on lots you do not want, then step away.
  • Moneyball Mike passes on superstars and hunts value, so fight him for the mid priced lots.
  • Passing everything still costs you: leftovers always arrive with fees.
  • Sign the Player FAQ

Do I bid against real people?

No, both rivals are AI moguls: The Sheikh pays over the odds, Moneyball Mike only spends where he sees value.

What happens if I pass on everything?

Your squad never has holes: missed positions get the leftover player, fee and all, so full passing buys the worst XI in the room.

    Is it a daily game?

No. Every run builds a fresh 33 player pool for your chosen theme, so no two auctions repeat.

Is Sign the Player free to play?

Yes. Sign the Player is free to play on DoUKnowBall, right in your browser. No download and no signup needed.
